Christmas on the Farm

The beautiful property that our church was able to purchase debt free was 12 acres, complete with various out buildings, including a barn with stables. We immediately saw possibilities for reaching out to the community with a Christmas event, decorating it with many lights and creating a live nativity, complete with live animals.
Through the years, it grew to include an outdoor amphitheater and a full blown Bethlehem village. Neighbors were invited into the home for homemade cookies (each family provided 100 cookies). It was a labor of love and so many of our members worked tirelessly through the cold, building walls and structures, making costumes, searching for authentic props to restore the true meaning of Christmas and standing outside to recreate that night when the Savior of the world made his appearance as an innocent helpless baby.
I hope this Christmas, you take time to focus on this amazing truth.
For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
