I want to share with you about the Treasure Series.
I am super excited about it and hope you will be blessed by it. Ten years ago, the Lord gave me this acrostic or antonym (not sure exactly) for listing the treasures that we have been given as believers. It spoke to my heart in such a profound way that I felt God would have me share it and so I tried.
I tried to present it in a retreat, but it was way too much to cram into a weekend. I was so determined that I turned that weekend into anything but a retreat. When the attendees were supposed to have free time to rest or see the beautiful town of Blue Ridge, they were sitting in the den with crossed eyes dozing off, because I had 8 sessions (4 or 5 at the most is a good retreat) to do. (If you are reading this and were at that retreat, please accept my humble apology.)
Then, I tried to turn it into a small group, but all of you who have led or attended small groups know how impossible it is to get to every session (and I didn’t have a book or videos for catching up on what was missed).
So, one day ten years later, I was praying about it and asking the Lord if it was just for my own edification or was I meant to share it, and the light came on. I could combine these beautiful spiritual insights with songs I have been loving through the years and the images I have been collecting for years, not even knowing how they would be used.
Now, 10 years later I am halfway through the Treasure series as a part of my blog. The blogs are under five minutes to read, so even with the song (which I heartily recommend), you can turn it into a devotional or a little study, depending on how involved you get in researching the scriptures.
However it is used, I feel like by posting it here in my blog, I am being a good steward of the treasure God put in my heart 10 years ago. It is fitting that i am doing it now while sitting in Dahlonega, Ga. In my new home sharing with you the precious gold that I discovered in the Word of God and the freedom it has given me to live a grace-full life.
