OMA

I am blessed to have some beautiful women of God in my life, who inspire me just by being in their presence.
One such woman is my good friend OMA. I first met OMA when she came to know The Lord 29 years ago. It was one of the most beautiful weeks I have ever witnessed. Her daughter, Jeannie, was teaching a Bible study and through the study led her mom, her sisters and a neighbor to The Lord. What an exciting time as these ladies gathered together to begin their new life in Christ, hungry to know all that God had to show them.
It wasn't long before it became obvious OMA had the gift of service as she set her hand to one thing after another. She made beautiful arrangements for the altar, organized collecting poinsettias for Christmas and Easter lilies for Easter, prepared communion.
In the past 29 years she has never stopped serving. There has never been an activity or event that didn't have an OMA touch. She made beautiful cookies for ladies tea parties and Father/Daughter dinners, headed up VBS, headed up the kitchen for potlucks, taught young girls and boys to cook and sew. Whenever anything came up, OMA found her part to contribute.
More than the beautiful handiwork, perfect cookies, lovely flowers, OMA teaches, by example, the joy of service, of loving through ministering, of feeling honored to bless the heart of her Savior and his kids, and always leaves a perfect OMA touch everywhere she goes.
She reminds me so much of all that The Lord is teaching me this year. What is that in OMA's hand? A beautiful artistic gift, an "old fashioned" woman's homemade cooking and handmade gifts and a heart willing to share it all with everyone she meets. She is a true Proverbs 31 tied up with a beautiful handmade bow! I am so blessed to have her in my life.
