UNTO US A CHILD IS BORN

For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given, And the government shall be upon his shoulders, And he shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,  Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.  Isaiah 9:6

We have just concluded another Christmas season focused on this beautiful reality. Unto us a child is born.  Jesus, the Son of God born with a plan and a purpose already in place for Him, was on assignment. He stepped out of Heaven, and came to this earth to be our Savior.

As amazing as this may seem, the Apostle Paul tells us that we, too, are created to do good things which God prepared in advance for us to do.  Yes, you and I are also here on assignment to live out the purpose for which we were called.

During the holidays, a beautiful baby boy was born at the maternity home where I am privileged to serve.  An “unplanned” pregnancy with a plan already in place for his life.  Who will he become?  What is the plan God has for this little one made in His image?  The psalmist of 139 has this to say.

For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.  My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place, when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.  Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be.

It is an honor and a privilege to support these brave moms who have chosen life,  even though they have been lied to  by the woke agenda most of their lives.  They have exercised their “woman’s right to choose” and have chosen to give the life growing inside them an opportunity to live the life he was destined to live.

This month, as marches are formed and abortion clinics are protested, beautiful young women created in the image of God are facing a life changing situation that seems overwhelming. Stop and pray that the voice she hears is the loving, gentle voice of Jesus, who understands and loves her.  Maybe you will be the one he uses to speak life into her heart, to assure her she isn’t alone.
