The Treasure Series | REDEEMED AND RECONCILED
Updated: Jul 20, 2024

Along our journey into the grace and unconditional love of God, we were privileged to know Don Francisco. I think he can best be described as a singing prophet. The lyrics of his songs over and over again have made me want to run into the arms of Jesus, knowing they are wide open and waiting for me. In my effort to share with you our journey out of religion and into a grace-full life, and also to see that things of value would not be forgotten, I will be sharing his songs from time to time.
"Adam, Where Are You?" is such a song. He portrays the heart of our heavenly Father in such a precious way. I literally cry all the way through the song, even now, though I have heard it many times. The loss of that close relationship Adam and Eve had with their Creator as seen through the eyes of God is so heartbreaking. So push the listen button, close your eyes and travel back to that moment when the sweet fellowship between man and His God was broken.
The first R in TREASURE represents another amazing supernatural gift—“redemption” and “reconciliation”. To redeem means to basically “gain or regain possession of something in exchange for payment”. The beautiful thing about the grace of God is that He wanted that close, intimate relationship back, and was willing to give His own Son as a payment to redeem us. The other “r” concept is reconciliation. To be reconciled is to cause to coexist in harmony. All through the Scripture we are reminded that our sinful nature has alienated us from our perfect God. So how does God reconcile us to Himself? He replaces our sinful nature with the righteousness of His own Son. Remember my introduction in the last blog. What if I told you, “I am holy and blameless and God loves me just the way I am?” How did I get holy and blameless? God replaced my sinful nature with the perfect righteousness of His Son, and the curtain between the righteousness of God and the sinfulness of man was torn from the top to the bottom. As Paul admonished God’s redeemed, “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help us in time of need.”
Please don’t miss listening to this song and letting the heart of God sink in to the deep places in your soul. Satan convinced Adam and Eve that God’s intentions for them were not pure and selfless, and they lost the beautiful fellowship they had—walking with God in the cool of the day. But God’s love and mercy had a plan and His plan was to redeem us and reconcile us to Himself.
. . . we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.
Yet another song that beautifully expresses the truth of redemption and grace.
