The Value Tale Books
Back in the 70’s when Drew and MaryKay were very young, an amazing series of books began to be published. Each biography was around 60 pages and told the life story of a famous person with a cute little twist. Each character had a little imaginary friend. They were very accurate depictions of the character’s life and very engaging read aloud books with beautiful illustrations on every page. We collected many of the books for Drew and Mary Kay and somewhere along the way when they outgrew them, we passed them along to other children
When we were making plans to start homeschooling around 2005 after the books were out of print, I found the Value Tale books again, this time on EBay. Noah and I bid on the books and waited with bated breath to see if we would “win”. We did win the bid and started our library with lots of Value Tale books.
Several years later our little Lynlee, born in 2008, was introduced to Value Tales. She became obsessed with The Value of Kindness, the story of Elizabeth Fry. We read it over and over again.
After David’s cancer we had to move from the farm and once again disassemble our school library. This time I did keep The Value of Kindness, Lynlee’s favorite.
Fast forward to our little Zoe, our first and only (so far) great grandchild, and you guessed it, I started searching for Value Tales again. This time it was Amazon to the rescue. Now for birthdays and Christmas, I always include a Value Tale for her as well.

Needless to say, I heartily recommend these beautiful books.
Amazingly this little cutie, has been reading them herself.
